From April, households wishing to have a weekly kerbside garden waste collection will need to purchase an annual permit for £59. Food waste from the green bin will continue to be collected free of charge.
You’ll be able to purchase the permit online from Monday 3 March. Alternatively, you can visit one of the local libraries to buy the permit.
Collection changes: The day of the week you put your bin out will not change but there will be collection changes in April. Stockport Council state that updated calendars to September 2026 will be online at the end of the month and delivered soon.
