Last week it was officially announced that Metrolink is coming to Stockport. The campaign “Next Stop Stockport” has been working towards this over a long period and the award winning Stockport Interchange was designed to be Metrolink ready. Metrolink will provide better connections and more opportunities for residents and businesses.
The government announced £2.5 billion in funding to Transport for Greater Manchester on 4th June and part of this will be spent on Metrolink to Stockport. As yet no timescales or other details have been announced.
