CareYourWay Stockport has launched its heart warming Present for a Pensioner campaign — a community effort to support older people who may be spending Christmas alone.
Loneliness is one of the biggest challenges facing older adults in Stockport. Many will receive no visitors, no gifts, and no festive cheer. This campaign aims to change that by delivering festive hampers, friendly smiles, and meaningful conversations right to their doorstep.
How It Works
CareYourWay is calling on the community to:
🏷 Nominate a pensioner
Anyone who may be isolated, bereaved, or without family support.

🎁 Donate items
Even small gestures — a tin of beans, toiletries, biscuits — make a difference.
🎄 Sponsor a hamper (£35)
Local businesses can sponsor a full hamper and will receive a “Sponsored By” feature and social media shout-out.
Each hamper is personally delivered —by Santa himself and his elves — to spread joy, connection, and kindness across Stockport’s communities, from Bramhall to Reddish, Hazel Grove to Marple.
Why It Matters
For many older people, this will be the only gift they receive — and the only visitor they see. A simple hamper can turn a lonely day into a moment of warmth, dignity, and human connection.
