Albert Road is a busy residential street just north of Cheadle Hulme's district centre. It is essentially a cut through from Station Road/Ladybridge Road to Hulme Hall Road/Turves Road/Cheadle Road. It was originally known as Stockport Road and was renamed in honour of Prince Albert, who travelled along it in 1857 on his way to Abney Hall in Cheadle.
