Smithy Green

Smithy Green is the neighbourhood of Cheadle Hulme made up of Church Road, Hulme Hall Road, Woods Lane and Hill Top Avenue. Though not in use officially today, it was once the name of the hamlet that was in the area, and was named for the smithy that existed somewhere around the hamlet. Its name lives on though, in the pub The Smithy, and the flats of the same name.
