Emmanuel Church is situated right on the west side of Cheadle Hulme, on the border with Heald Green. The original building opened in November 1966, as a Sunday school controlled by St Andrew's and All Saints Church. It was described as a "small wooden building" and cost around £7,500 (£100,000) to construct. It later became a church in its own right - today it is an Evangelical Church of England establishment.

The original church building is now the church hall, as a new building adjacent to the current one was opened in September 2001.
