Cheadle Hulme is home to many educational establishments, and there are many in Stockport, whose council Cheadle Hulme is part of. The oldest purpose-built school was the Jonathan Robinson School, established in 1785, and demolished in 1962. It was located on the corner of Woods Lane and Church Road. The main secondary school is Cheadle Hulme High School - there is also St. James's Catholic High School, as well as independent schools Cheadle Hulme School, Hulme Hall School and others.
